My Name is Glenda Plozay, and I'm happy you're here!
In 2021 I started painting. I watched YouTube videos, followed a few artists, found some great instructors and joined a great group of artists that meet weekly. It's been fun, and a little intimidating to put my work in front of people.
In 2022 I joined the Iowa Watercolor Society (IWS). I wanted to get to know other watercolor artists and learn more about painting. That year I entered two paintings in to the IWS annual members show. Both paintings were accepted into the traveling show. "Feed the Bees" and “My Old Friend Grant” are the first paintings I entered into the IWS show.
"The Pollinators Plot" and "Midnight Chickadees" were accepted into the Iowa Watercolor Society Show for 2023. The Pollinator Plot won Honorable Mention, Midnight Chickadees toured the state in the IWS 2023/2024 traveling show.
In 2024 I joined another group, The Iowa Artists. I competed in their regional show and won a “People's Choice” award, and an honorable mention, for two paintings, “Nesting in the Frangipani” and “Goldfinches on Thistle”
"Nesting in the Frangipani" and “The Old She Shed” were accepted into the IWS show in 2024. Nesting in the Frangipani won Honorable Mention.
“The Old She Shed” won second place in the Iowa Artits regional show in 2025.
The newest accepted entries into the 2025 IWS show are “Around the Water Tank” and “For Wrent”
So, this is the beginning of my watercolor journey and it's pretty exciting.
